On Wednesday, Samsung announced that it will showcase its first Galaxy Unpacked event of 2024 on January 17 at the SAP Center in San Jose, California.
The event will be an in-person event and also live-streamed on Samsung.com, Samsung Newsroom, and Samsung’s YouTube channel beginning at 10 a.m. PST, 1 p.m. EST, 6 p.m. GMT, and 7 p.m. CET.
Samsung Galaxy S24 Unpacked Event To Unfold On January 17
The South Korean tech giant claims the event will unveil the latest premium Galaxy innovations and provide “an all-new mobile experience powered by AI.” It also released a teaser video stating that “Galaxy AI is coming,” which means that the latest flagship series will have inbuilt AI (artificial intelligence) features.
“A revolutionary mobile experience is coming. Get ready to discover a new era full of possibilities with the latest Galaxy innovations, designed to transform how you live, connect and create,” Samsung wrote in a blog post while announcing date for the Galaxy Unpacked event.
“The new Galaxy S series will set a higher standard for the most intelligent mobile experience yet. Experience the epic in everyday life like never before.”
What Should We Expect From The Galaxy Unpacked Event
We expect Samsung to unveil its next generation of Galaxy S phones at the event, which will likely be called the Galaxy S24 series. The Galaxy S24 devices that may be revealed are – the Samsung Galaxy S24, Samsung Galaxy S24+, and Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.
The company has already started accepting pre-reservations via its website and the Samsung app for the new handsets in the U.S. Those who reserve one of the Galaxy S24 phones will receive a $50 credit, which can be redeemed once you place an official preorder.
Galaxy S24 Series Specifications (Expected)
Leaks and rumors from trusted sources suggest that Samsung’s Galaxy S24 series will feature AMOLED LTPO displays with variable refresh rates ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz. They will run Android 14-based One UI 6.1.
Further, the premium Ultra variants of the device are said to come with a 200MP quad camera setup, while the regular models may sport a trio of rear-facing cameras with 50MP camera modules.
Depending on the market, the Galaxy S24 smartphones will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC or Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2400 chip, boasting significant AI capabilities. Moreover, all models will offer up to 2,600 nits of brightness, IP68 water resistance, and exclusive S Pen support for the S24 Ultra.
In addition, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to have a titanium frame, similar to the one offered in the Apple iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max.
