While the excitement around Apple’s most anticipated and upcoming iPhone 16 series has started building up, a tipster has now shared some new insights on the design changes on the upcoming 2024 iPhones.
iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Pro Designs Leak Via Dummy Unit Images
For those unaware, Apple’s iPhone 16 series of smartphones is expected to hit the global market in September 2024 and is said to comprise the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max models.
Tipster Sonny Dickson (@SonnyDickson) has shared three images of dummy units for all four models in the iPhone 16 series of smartphones on X (formerly Twitter) that suggest massive design changes to the upcoming models.
One of the most significant changes in the iPhone 16 series is the introduction of a dedicated Action button, which will be placed on the left side of the device. This feature, currently exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro, is now making its way to the entire iPhone 16 lineup. The new Action button replaces the mute switch and can be reprogrammed to launch specific tasks or shortcuts.

Further, all four iPhone 16 models could get an all-new Capture button to enable users to record videos and take photos quickly. This dedicated button will be placed on the right side of the device and feature a physical design with a touch-sensitive surface to help zoom in and out through gestures.
Another notable change is the redesigned rear camera layouts of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. The vertically aligned rear camera bump, as seen in the leaked images of the dummy units, could enable spatial video recording capabilities, promising an enhanced user experience.
Lastly, the leaks indicate that the display size of the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models could be slightly increased. This means that the phone dimensions of these models would also see a slight increase.
It’s important to remember that all the information shared by the tipster is unofficial and should be taken with a grain of salt. With several months remaining until Apple unveils the iPhone 16 series, we can anticipate more leaks, rumors, and possibly some concrete news. Stay tuned!
